Seafarers Medicals

VM Medical Centre’s team of experienced examiners are adept at conducting intensive divers and seafarers medical examinations that help them to be well prepared for their expedition. Our medical professionals carry out individual divers and seaman medical examination in an authorized and a consistent manner so as to assess specific needs and requirements and enable individual mariners to take informed decisions before they embark on their journey.

Our examiners are well-informed about the fitness requisites and standards for divers and seafarers and also well understand these medical standards with respect to diverse naval professionals. Our medical assessments are carried out in such a way so as to diagnose highly complex as well as some of the commonest medical problems and conditions that they are likely to face. We grant the medical certificate only after a thorough examination of the incumbent, which includes studying his/her medical history and medical records.

At every step of the medical assessment, we follow a systematic approach, so as to not just create a detailed medical report on the seafarer but also acquaint them with the various risks associated with their pre-existing conditions, if any.

We are equipped to conduct periodic and pre-sea examinations in accordance with MLC/STCW/ILO standards. Our team is also trained to provide timely advice in an event of any type of medical contingency that may arise on-board.

We are empanelled as Medical Examiners by the Directorate General of Shipping, India.
